...Seven replies, and no one has accurately answered the question? That's even more sad then having to answer it in the first place.
Wired controllers offer less input lag than wireless controllers because the input is being read by a direct feed. In fighting games, that is paramount. Most casual players won't even notice, but core players can feel if their input is delayed by even a single frame.
Losing a match because your controller could not keep up with your reaction time can be incredebly frustrating to hardcore fighting game players.
