In all seriousness though. It would flop hard even if it was the second coming of Jesus. Niche game on a niche console. That's not the game's fault but it's what's going to happen.

Better and less niche games have flopped by being exclusive to the wrong console.

Every game is a niche game. The game fills the niche. Anyway, it seems like it could have quite a broad user base. Hard to say though, it might flop, it might not, I plan to get it from what I have seen so far, I think it looks fun.

I don't see how this game cannot flop. Even if it gets stellar reviews and 200 GOTY awards(which it won't) it will barely sell more than a few 100k if at all.
Not even Bayo 2 got to 500k so far and that is with critical acclaim and lots of news coverage. Most Wii U owners don't even know DT exists. Remember No More Heroes? Sold barely above 500k despite being somewhat popular and released on sales juggernaut Wii.

Unless Nintendo gets its marketing machine rolling for this game I don't see it selling above 200k LT.

I agree, they need to get off their lazy asses with marketing, no doubt about that. Both those games you mentioned have potentially smaller niches than what could be a potentially broad market for DT. Bayonetta, despite being highly praised, is still a sexual, action oriented game developed by platinum games which has never had mass appeal unfortunately. Similar thing with No More Heroes, it is a good game but again, an odd approach to an open world game, weird cell shaded graphic and art direction. DT has the potential of appealing to the shooter fans as well as action fans, and the bloodfest fans. That helps encompass some COD guys with the multiplayer, plus single player, and the third person action of games like GOW and Ninja Gaiden. It might totally backfire and not hit the spot for many, but it does have a possiblity of hitting all the bullseyes. Plus the option of player created maps might appeal to multiplayer fans.

I might be completely wrong though lol.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
