Smash Bros released at the end of this year. It will still benefit the Wii U for next year. Better library will help the console, as well as a likely price cut for next holidays and the release of high profile games like Zelda or Animal Crossing.

Smash bros released during the most financially advantageous time of the year, and barely did anything for it's holiday. I don't know why anyone thinks that Animal Crossing will do anything for the Wii U. Zelda is not Mario Kart or Smash Bros when it comes to sales, so that will do worst than either, and that will be the best the system will do next year. And you're overestimating how much the price cut will help. If a $100 price cut to the more successful XBO barely helped it, a $50 price cut to the Wii U won't fare much better.

Your definition of barely is laughable.

15 millions is not a big number in the absolute and 4 millions even less. A 150$ Wii U next holiday can beat this year sale quite easily I think.
