Disolitude, did you put any thought into that or are you just trying to sound like a fanboy? I'm gathering the latter over the former. - 1

First off, all...I repeat, ALL 3rd parties are out to make money. While the noble idea of wanting to make the best experience they can is quite possibly high on their list of attributes, money is number 1 for them all. It's a fact of business that most of us gamers don't like to entertain.

To consider your imaginative conversation for a moment, then all games should be played on a PC. Or to consider consoles only, last generation should have been Xbox only instead of the weaker powered PS2. -2

Then we must explore your other notion. That the gaming experience is of the utmost importance to the developer. In which case it is completely subjective to which console can deliver the perfect rendition of their artistic experience and therefore the Wii can very well compete with the HD consoles by providing a more robust interactive experience that submerses the player as a more active participant more so than merely a button masher. Does the developer want to you simply press play to listen to their orchestra.....or have you conduct it yourself? - 3

At any rate, either notion suggests the Wii is clearly in place to entice a larger portion of the 3rd party pie.

1. Why are people always on this site acused of being fanboys when they criticise Nintendo? I got a wii 2 months after it came out... this is deffinetly a sign of a nintendo hater. You people really freak me out actually...you remind me of Christians in the American southern states...blind faith + 1.

2. Why was doom 3, Halflife 2, Far cry and ninja gaiden done on xbox only. They would have made gallons of money on ps2...but the experience would have been compromised. Hence developers decided to go with xbox only. Doom 3 and far cry was even in development for ps2 but they were scrapped. Difference between xbox and ps2 is much smaller than difference between wii and ps360 so you make the call on what are the odds of seeing GTA5 or RE5 on the Wii.

3. Again you prove my point..conducting an orchestra, painting a fence, cutting a tree...yes wii will do those parts in games great. However, you can not base a whole game on one gameplay mechanic...therefore you have to put it in as mini games or mini quests. Mario Gallaxy and Smash brothers would control better as a whole with a gmaecube controller...very few people will deny that.

4. In any case, I think that if what you people saying is true, and game devs start using the wii as their main develping platform, the whole industry will be taking a step backwards until wii gets a hard drive or some decent online support and a normal controller for 80% of games out there that don't need to have random stick waggling. Not to mention the loss in visual quality we will lose if this trend takes place...

1. You didn't critisize Nintendo, you were just ignoring facts, without having any constructive point. 2. M$ does pay big bucks for exclusivity. Besides, you can hardly call 3 games a strong 3rd party support, unless you were meaning that it proved that XB got couple of thousands of games, opposed to hundreds on PS2. Oh, wait... You see, Wii isn't going to get all games, just most of them. Yes, the difference is bigger, but so are the differences in financial issues too. And what's most important, one thing that haven't changed is that companies need to make profit. 3. So, what games exactly base only on gameplay mechanics? Very few of them. In most games, the mechanics just give more depht for the gameplay. SMG wouldn't play better with a GC controller. In Brawl, surprise, you actually can play with the GC controller, just like in Mario Kart Wii, it's only your choice what method to use. Optional control methods will be in most games in the future. 4. No, it's not a stepback. It's actually a giant leap forward. If people are interested in the type of games they play today, these games will still be made. Wii doesn't stop graphics going forward, but it offers profitable platform for different kinds of games and therefore drives the industry forward in terms of expanding and profit for developers. It's really a win-win situation ->more profit->more games->more customers->more profit...
