Why US=World argument might actually be legitimate

Note that you'll never had any exec from Microsoft say that winning the U.S. is more important than winning the rest of the world. Why won't they say it? Because it's utter nonsense! U.S. sales will always peak during this type of year because we're told to buy things. XBOX One will outsell PS4 around this time because a) Microsoft markets far better in the U.S. than Sony does. Almost every new American show that features characters playing video games has them playing Xbox. And b) As a lead in from a, people see this and will ask their moms to buy them the game they saw the guy on Nickelodeon playing. And 3) What do you expect when you have a console that is from the country in question, $100 less to buy, and comes with free games? No one is surprised that XBOX ONE beat PS4 this holiday season. It would've been interesting to see how the 2 would have feared with identical price points and no freebies attached.

Except reality TV shows.
