You guys are attacking him way to quick, he makes some good points in that U.S does spend the most on games. PS3 outsold 360, yet 360 beat it in software sales, and you know why? Because it dominated it in the U.S, also look at the original Xbox's attach rate, it was amazing.

Sure U.S doesn't equal the world, but it is the most important market by far, and people that say the other countries spend just as much as U.S are kidding themselves. Check the other big markets like Germany,France,Italy,Spain,Japan, U.K(not 100% sure on this as it is very similar to U.S) and you'll see that there software sales are much less than U.S in attach rate to consoles sold.

If you were to ask any of the big 3 if they would rather sell 40 million consoles in the U.S, or 40 million in the R.O.W they would choose U.S.

No its not.

For instance, GTA V sold best in Europe

Pokemon sold best in Japan.

Why the hell would Nintendo want 40 million in US, if their they didn't buy the most of pokemon for instance.

Biggest single market size is not the same thing as more important, especially when you consider market preference.

Or are you going to tell me Fifa sells best in the states?

No, regions have preferences, and prefrences alone make it impossible to cater to one region alone and have variety.

So no console company would want 40 million US over 40 mill R.O.W, Just because XB1 has been forced to focus on US and UK, doesn't mean its the only one they want, it is because they don't have a choice.

That's nitpicking, and also GTA 5 sold more in the U.S, don't just look at current gen consoles.

And I didn't try to sound that U.S is the end all be all, I said I don't fully agree with him, but it is the most important market, that's what I was trying to say, cause I can nitpick as well and say that Madden, Assassins Creed, Call of Duty, Smash Bros, Uncharted, Halo etc etc sell a lot more in the U.S.

I was just trying to make a point that most software is sold in the U.S, I didn't try and make it sound that the rest of the world is not important at all, both Ninty and Microsoft would kill to be in Sony's position, but I used 360 vs PS3 to show why selling more in the U.S is better than selling more in R.O.W.
