More sales are generated from europe for the majority of the year. That's the biggest market for video games therefore it's more important.  It doesn't matter how you define europe or how it's compared to the states. 

Wait... What?  Since when?  How is it that the North American market sold like 40 million more consoles last gen then Europe if it is a smaller market?

I'm talking about this console generation. It seems like more people are buying video games in the world versus last gen.
