This amiibo thing is going to transcend console cycles. I mean think about it.

Nintendo: "shoot, we have Metroid Prime 5 coming out on the Thwii but we already released the Samus model for Smash and Prime 4 on the Wii U so everybody already has it..."

Random Nintendo employee: "We could release an UPDATED model showing off the shiny white Samus armor (that allows you to have a PURE WHITE armored Samus during the whole game)"

Nintendo: "We shall promote you!"
