No surprise there, Smash and Wii-U lower than expected but that's what happens if you launch you release on 3DS in handheld gaming dominated Japan. Also most people who are interested in the game probably already own a Wii-U. Though less than 10k more than what PS4 did is pretty bad.
Looking at the bigger picture though by releasing it in 3DS aswell Nintendo will sell more in total than if they kept it on Wii-U exclusive.
