In other words every Wii U and 3DS owner in America would have to buy 4 to 5 Amiibos. I think this is hugely unrealistic within the launch period.

I haven't seen anyone confirm that estimate except that one report (which has been repeated by many other sites).

I have 9 Amiibos & planning on buying a few more of the next batch, so...

I have zero.  It doesn't really prove much.
