Back on topic:
2 things. M$ are jerks, and the system breaks. M$ has EVERYONE believing that that Live is the best online, but really? "OMG! PSN is so crappy compared to Live. Live is the has the 'better experience'". Really? You go online, and you play multiplayer games with people all over the world. In that since, is Live really THAT much better than PSN or Wii online? The only advantage it has is you can private chat while you're in-game. Is that really worth $50?
Unified server? That's why, when over Christmas, when Live went down, Xbox owners couldn't play ANY games! If a server goes down on a PS3 game, you can just pop something else in, because the DEVELOPERS handle their servers, instead of letting Sony manage everything. Why do you think games like WoW have several servers, instead of one massive one? Dedicated servers are way better. And Wii online, respectablely is good too. Forget everything about how "Xbox has the better online" because essentially, it doesn't. They're all about equal. Only reason Live ISN'T free is because M$ runs everything. Enough online hate.
Games. People hate Xbox because the only touted heavy hitters are, you guessed it, shooters. Say what you want about "Oh, it has Forza 2 and Crackdown" but what games do they put out there as reasons to get the system? Halo, Gears, Bioshock, Mass Effect (you can try and call it an "RPG" but really it's a shooter with RPG elements). Everything else is just "Hey, this game is on the system too"
Lastly, it breaks. No hardware tests beforehand. They just wanted to beat Sony to the market. And because of that, 33% of their gamers had to go through all their crap. That's not acceptable at all. They didn't care about gamers, they only cared about profit.
Now don't get me wrong. I was stating reasons that I THINK, OTHER people hate the 360. While I personally prefer the PS3, I still see the 360 as a good console (I wouldn't dare pay for Live though, because I honestly don't believe it's worth $50 to do in game chat and in game adding friends.....because playing online is playing online. All those perks shouldn't really make it BETTER ONLINE!!!!!!!) I like games like Halo and Bioshock, and I really want to play Lost Odyssey. I think I said this to someone before. If I had access to a 360, I would play it's games, but I wouldn't own one myself.
