Why has Nintendo given up on Metroid?

I've been waiting for the past 3 E3s and god knows how many Nintendo Directs. How long am I supposed to keep waiting?

Little while longer as Metroid for Wii U and 3DS is in the planning stages as of E3. So if in devlopment it's super super super early to the point just be glad if we geta teaser by E3
