My kid can spout out a thousand things she want for Christmas, but of course I ultimately decide what she gets, what I think is best for her. So sometimes she gets what she want's because it's MY preference. Also, I have a saying: "It's usually better I spend a little more on what you want as opposed to wasting money on something you don't."
