And then lose it's 10m+ userbase because of dropping 570 other Pokémon. Genius.

You don't put out other generations right away... you hold back and release them every 2-3 years or so to milk the franchise for all its worth, just as they've been doing for the last two decades.  Duh!

And that userbase will grow exponentially due to the younger generation who never got to experience Pokemon 1st gen, and older gamers who grew up with 1st gen going for a nice nostalgia trip.
