I don't understand why you make a distinction between Zelda and Xenoblade/Splatoon with the word "traditional."
If I understand properly, your specifying that only 3D games based on 20-year-old intellectual property counts? You must be requiring it to be pretty old, because Pikmin is definitely 3D. As is Mario 3D World, but for some reason that doesn't count because it's "not what you expected."
Even if all that is accepted, I still think another 3D Mario is possible on Wii U. And as you mentioned, Star Fox ought to count, although perhaps your vague definition of what you consider 3D won't be applicable to an on-rails shooter.
