Nintendo should switch their focus from hardware to software. As a software company Nintendo would be bigger than ever before.

This is kind of a myth though. They actually make more money from hardware than they do from software. 

To make up for a loss of hardware they would have to sell something like 750 million smartphone games at $4.99 a pop
