Well there is 2 Major hints we'll get a pair sequel/version.
1. The region right next to Kalos, several hinting (in XY) toward it and the whole great war. (maybe time travel or something?)
2. This is where im 100% sure... The Pokemon Zygarde (Z mascot as you will think) has been hacked and the move it gets turns into """2""" different moves. Thousand Arrows and Thousand ??? (forgot name). this will be done by either Mega Evolution or split forms (think Kyruem from BW2).
My Guess is this for Pokemon in the future...
XY2 / Z / Watever will be released Early/Summer of 2016 (so 1.5 years) on 3ds (obviously)
Gen 7 will be released in 2017 (the new handheld will be out earlier this year or holiday launch) but you canplay this on N3DS as well but just not 3ds.
I could be wrong though, i mean BW/BW2 were for DS despite 3ds being out already :0
