IF you have never played a jrpg this would be an AMAZING place to start IMO. The first Xeno was a swan song to everything that was great about jrpgs when I was playing them as a kid, deep story, interesting fantasty environment, some of the best characters, deep customization (which was once apon a time a MAJOR component of JRPG's that more or less disappeared), and huge Worlds (another thing that has disappeared, but more 7th gen only). All the while improving things like making the battle system quicker by having it real time (where before when you were attacked by or attacked an enemy an entirely different screen had to load which was the battle area). Xenoblade Chronicles X is exactly where you need to start, because it opitimizes the jrpg experience before it became so freaking watered down. The scale of things might feel a bit intimidating, but only makes beating the game that much more satisfying. |
Cool thanks. I really want the game because I want to explore that world, but it's good to know that it'll be a proper jrpg. Seeing as it'll be my first journey into the genre.
