Yeah kinda lines up with what I've been seeing, although ancedontally ....
- Good sales of Smash Wii
- Pretty good sales of amiibo
- Not many Wii Us sold though
I think Smash fans tend to be Nintendo fans (whoda thunk that a fanbase for a franchise IP fighter would like those same said IP) though rather than some completely distinct audience base that was just waiting to buy a Wii U only when this game arrived ... so the hardware boost may not be as great as some people hyped.
Look at the 3DS ... virtually no hardware bump for the 3DS in October even with Smash.
