That sounds reasonable enough to me. Nintendo has historically went after profit over engaging in competition. They do seem to be looking squarely at profit this holiday season, without much regard for how they fair against Microsoft and Sony.

It's quite possible that Nintendo moves the fewest units this holiday and still comes out the big "winner" in terms of money made. 

i agree but at some point (def not this fiscal year) they will have to address market share - they have already shrunk significantly as a company since the wii days- they can only shrink so much before it becomesa threat to their operating viability 

Market Share isn't really the most important factor, they just need a healthy install base. Even if their market share is relatively small because XOne and PS4 sell very well, they could still have a healthy install base of say 30 million +. But that's the big problem right know, WIi-U's install base is so small that they miss out on a lot of software sales.
