Because this happens to all consumer electronics.

The implication of this thread is that Sony will cut the price pre-holidays by $100. That simply will not happen. Sony has lost billions of dollars on the PS3 (and they are not Microsoft, they actually need to show they can profit on the PS3) and hasn't yet shown a single profitable quarter for the PS3. That may change when the last quarter's results come in, but its far from certain.

 Never say never. but to have a thread base on an assumption is kinda silly
