Smash must have purchasers have to much overlap with Mario Kart and other Nintendo franchises that already launched. If they didnt pick up a Wii U for Mario Kart why would they pick one up for Smash?

Also have to add that retailers are mostly ignoring the Wii U for Black Friday weekend. Think the only deal is at Best Buy.  Wii U will be left in the dust that weekend.  Wii U will be passed by X1 before November ends.

Halo 5 must have purchasers have to much overlap with Forza and other Xbox franchises that already launched. If they didnt pick up a X1 for Forza why would they pick one up for Halo?

I believe and have believed for a long time there is a type of gamer called the Nintendo gamer that lives and breathes by Nintendo games.  Each and every one of those games will have successfully less success in driving purchasers of the console for any particular game.

As for Halo. Yes I do believe that fewer people will pickup a console for Halo 5 alone simply because they did pick it up for Halo MCC. It only makes sense. Overall i believe that the X1 will blow away the Wii U and overtake it by end of November not because of Halo MCC, but because the Wii U has made very little entry into the mainstream its 2 years on the market. So much so that retailers are barely mentioning it in Black Friday advertisements.  Finally as my signature has said for years. "It's libraries that sell games not a single game".  If people arent buying the Wii U now it is because they are rejecting the console and its overall library.

That is an entirely irrational belief.

I said Forza rather Halo MCC, because it doesn't make sense just like Mario Kart to Smash doesn't make sense.

If a person with a Wii U does not buy Smash, that is because they didn't value it enough, regardless of whether or not they owned Mario Kart.

If a person doesn't buy a Wii U for Smash, then the combined library wasn't enough for them to get the cost. But that has zero bearing on whether or they like Smash enough to make the plunge.
