Let me see if I'm understanding you correctly... You think that, in spite of the fact that there have only been two months this year that were worse for Wii U than last year (January and September - one being the drawdown after the Wii U launch and the other being the month that Wind Waker was released, whereas Hyrule Warriors didn't make it out until October), in spite of the Wii U being well up this year over last year for the first 10 months total, and in spite of the Wii U selling 73k in the first full week of November compared with 59k in the equivalent week last year (with 2013 sales being down relative to the previous week, while 2014 sales are up), the Wii U will sell 50k less across the holiday season... in spite of the release of Smash Bros? I'm sorry, but you're going to have to explain your reasoning further than this, because I cannot see any plausible explanation for your prediction. |
I tried really hard to think of something that could potentially hurt Wii U sales in November + December. Obviously Assassins Creed and Halo MCC, as well as Call of Duty will probably steal some sales away early on in November. Then there is Dragon Age, Far Cry 4 and the GTA reboot which I predict to do pretty well too.
On Nintendo's end we have Pokemon, which I almost wanna say people are more hyped for at this point due to the fact that Smash technically came out already on the 3DS. And after all that, I still believe that there is no possible way for the Wii U to sell less than it did last year unless Smash is suddenly canceled the week before launch...
