I can't pretend to be a massive Bioware fanboy, given that Mass Effect 1 was my first game from them, but I've always kept faith since then (I have gone back to play KOTOR and really enjoyed it, but I am a Star Wars fanboy)

In spite of the weak ME 3 ending, that whole series was just fantastic in my opinion. I don't think there has really been any game that's got close to what it achieved

As for Dragon Age, I'm not hugely fond of medieval fantasy and didn't actually finish Origins initially. I did go back and finish it in preparation to play the cheap copy of 2 I bought, but never got beyond the first hour

But 3 does look good! But I'm not a huge western RPG fan. The 2 most popular are probably Skyrim and the Witcher 2, neither of which I thought were very good games (60 hours and 25 hours played) because they're not fun to play. The Witcher 2 you just spend your whole time rolling around and the whole potion system seems absurd to me. You're meant to drink potions before battle? So are you expected to always know when there is going to be a fight?

Skyrim's combat wasn't good at all if you ask me, though it was decent from an exploration perspective. But I just can't really deal with the awful animations. I also did slightly break the game by doing loads of crafting early, so played most of the game with maxed Daedric armour

But yeah, in spite of Dragon Age 3 drawing heavily from those 2 games I kind of want it. (I also kind of want the Witcher 3...). But I may just keep playing Unity and then move on to Kingdom Hearts II.5 HD remix instead. Though not through lack of faith in Bioware! Bring on KOTOR 3!

You should rent it to give it a try, its gets amazing reviews and has an 88 on meta right now!

Inquisition?

From what I've read, it takes a while to get going. I think I'm going to wait for a sale of sorts, £40 on PC is too much for my tastes. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to try it
