Though i think the only one that was lazy was NSMB2, i do agree with DK. I dont think we should look at NSMBU, but the fact many cried tht DK was 2 things...
1. Hard (like WTF?) Nobody can take a challenge anymore -_-
2. Its not Metroid. Yes though i also wished and prayed for Any metroid game from Retro... WTH does that have to do with DK:TF? Im not lying whn i say i saw at least 4 reviews literally complaining about its not metroid :-/
DK:TF is one of the best 2D Platformers of all time, currently my favorite 2D one this gen.
