Idk Mario Maker might be quite a bit more ambitious than ur making it out to be, it's been a common trend lately for Nintendo to announce a game that looks decent/good then as it gets closer to release it begins to look better and better. 3D World, MK8, Smash U are all good examples of this, hell Splatoon & Kirby's new trailers make these games look much better than they did at E3, the same could happen to Mario Maker in its next trailer. |
It's a very simple project; take a bunch of existing assets and make a user-friendly level builder for them. If they can't manage that by Q1 2015 then their production pipeline is hopelessly broken.
