The 2015 release date seemed pretty optimistic to me, the game seemed pretty early in development when they showed it at E3

Well its true they said that, but Nintendo's delayed games before despite giving out a date. Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, & Xenoblade Chronicles X were all games Nintendo had to delay for one reason or another. I'd love for Nintendo to be ahead of schedule for a change though, I love Star Fox :D
