Any gen where you preferred the competitors console rather than your favorite company's?

I generally am more into Sony products, but I know Microsoft is all show so I always buy Xboxes first (in its first two gens). They blow their load in the first couple years with third party (and a couple first party) and I can just go back to Sony once they hit the ground running.
