Just think about that.

Sony had a successful handheld last gen. Now, like Microsoft, a majority of the shipments are from their console business. I don't see how that's interesting, everyone knows the Vita is doing poorly. You don't have to downplay every bit of good Sony news you know.

Its not downplaying.  its an important industry fact,

the gaming industry is smaller for Ninty and Sony. 

It demands more acumen and business sense to make a sustainable model where you dont have new hardware cycles every couple of years.

You mean like the PS1? And the PS2? I think you're forgetting that they've already succeeded in a smaller industry.
