Will MS's pricecut give them a November or December win in the US?

Don't count Sony out. Remember that this price cut is Microsofts reaction to Sony. Technically Sony is already winning so they don't have to do anything. It is entirely possible Sony could win the holidays without cutting price. All it needs is some good retailer promotions and some good bundles.

The question is if Sony is that bothered by it or not. They may want to keep market share in USA... they may wait a couple of weeks and see what effects it has, or they may just price match with certain retailers. They may be happy with MS selling more or closer to them over xmas, they may want to match it and really stick the knife in...because PS+ sales, accesories and future Disk/Online sales will go to the higher selling console. It's probably worth them price matching.

Just like MS last gen, Sony is in the position to act if they feel they need to.
