After the Direct, I think they did make the right decision. Anyone with half a brain can see that the Wii U version is the definitive edition, and by building the fanbase first on the 3DS there's a chance some will make the leap to the Wii U version.
Plus there's the fact that if you had access to both the Wii U version and the 3DS at the same time, would you really pick the latter?
If anything, the gap should have been bigger and the 3DS version should have landed late August. I might have actually picked it up then!
