Well if that petition reaches 50k I'm sure capcom would reconsider a port. The graphics don't seem too amazing compared to other games.

Let me put it this way. RE5 is more likely to come to DS than to Wii.

Explain to me how you came to that conclusion.

much cheaper and easier to make a DS spin-off of RE5 to cash in... than to design from ground-up for Wii.

 

Both won't happen, but DS version is actually more likely

I doubt they would have to design it from the ground up. They could do two things either use the re4 engine with upgrades, or directly port it with downgrades.

 it can't be that easily to purely downgrade, you have to change a lot of the game physics, as well as number of AI on screen. That's why with games like StarWar force Unleashed, they hire another developer to make Wii/PS2 version.
