Being the console of choice changes a lot too, the hardware sales will be less split than in previous generation since people will mostly take a PS4 to play to the big games.

yes thats right. but why should that effect the holiday % bump only?

that would affect the baseline (sales in q1-q3) already

i will keep an eye on this. i still dont see a big % increase for the ps4. maybe it will go from 47% to 49%

edit: btw

historically the ps nov --> dec  bump was always bigger than the xbox one

lil over 100% for ps and just 80% for xbox

but the oct ---> nov bump for xbox was mostly 150-200% whlile ps only had 100%*

*us numbers from last gen

they just sell differently ;)

Simple, because PS4 dominates more and more with every big release and christmas is the big choice period, it is now that being the most popular will really count , also there wasnt many big system sellers this year, so the " 50% of the rest of the year" is not an exact science when you got  so few system sellers outside holidays

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m
