Ah okay. Yeah that's still terrible. Does it clear cap space though? I don't follow the back-office side of the Hawks at all, so I don't know if he got a big contract yet or not. Or maybe he hadn't yet, but they would have to pay him next year, then they looked at how he's fitting with the team this year and were like "Welp, let's bail now and try for something that fits".

I think they might be looking at someone to pace in with Chancellor. It seems like their defense needs that extra pop that's missing with the losses in personnel since the BOOM season last year ended on top. IIRC they lost some absolutely stellar guys.

They're still top-tier, but not overwhelmingly good.

2014 Cowboys vs. 2013 Seahawks I think would have been a much tighter game. You can't deny Dallas O-line and run game, but the '13 Hawks were a half-step above the '14 Hawks defensively.

It likely clears up cap space, otherwise I'd imagine the return would've been higher than a conditional 4th.  We'll know more when the details of the trade are made public.

The phrase "locker room cancer" is also popping up pretty regularly now that he's gone, complete with accusations that he gave Tate a black eye during the Super Bowl (a plus, if true). No idea how much of it is true, though.
