Didn't see any originality in the first episode. Aside from very high production values and non-standard character designs the first ep was quite generic and frankly boring.
For me an anime to be fun it has to be either unique or cater to my specific interests. Vanadis isn't nearly as good of an anime as Bahamut. Not even close. But it has an archer and boobs which for some reason speak to me.

That's why good != fun.

If I'd only watch good animes I wouldn't really have much to watch every season^^

If you say so. Crossbow revolver as a weapon, MC who looks like a '80s Jack Sparrow, amazing animation, and some great action sequences made for a great plot for me.

I really don't see how you can knock it for originality when SAO and Vanadis have much less of it overall. If anything, very few anime now have true originality. At least Bahamut dared to be different in an animazion sense and main character sense than the vast majority of anime out there.

Like I said, I guess we can just agree to disagree. Bahamut, up to now, has been my sleeper hit. I actually enjoyed the second episode more than the first, which is surprising.

I highlighted the part you overread. Never said that SAO or Vanadis were especially original. Just that I like them for specific reasons.

I haven't seen any originality in the parts where it counts for me. Or maybe its originality is just not good enough for me^^

If you want to see a truly unique anime, watch Kaiba. In comparison to that most animes lack originality.

Well, we all have different tastes, I won't begrudge you for yours.
