You know what I think Samus should have...I was thinking about this the other day...
She should have a motorcycle. I could imagine a skyrim style world with more terrain and crazy jumps. Her bike could be modified just like her to have boost ability, hover ability, megnetism, missiles, and maybe even turn into a cannon to launch a now-morphed samus through the air.
It would allow Metroid to steer closer to a Legend of Zelda feel in terms of epic scope, without having to planet hop like they did in MP3.
