Well, "should be able to" kind of implies that it's possible under the right circumstances, it is no way a guarantee or even overly likely. MS made some big mistakes in the beginning and are only just now starting to grow and show their potential whereas Sony had a more smooth start.

MS also screwed up at the start of the 7th gen, but they have shown a great capacity for correcting mistakes and recovering and the 360 turned out to be a great success despite a fairly poor start. The 8th gen won't be as one-sided as the majority thinks, in my opinion, especially in NA.
