Which is entirely due to Mario Kart 8, in fact now that the MK boost is pretty much gone the Wii U's September sales of 175,694 are actually below last Septembers sales of 189,382. So yeah if it's September sales aren't any higher than last years then I don't really expect it's Oct-Dec sales to be either. |
As of September 28, 2013, the Wii U had sold 1,282,625 units in 2013. As of September 27, 2014, the Wii U has sold 1,887,717 units in 2014. 1,887,717 minus 1,282,625 is a difference of 605,092. 605,092 divided by 1,282,625 is 0.47, or 47%. The Wii U is up 47% since last year.
As for September sales, you're using the Hardware Year-on-Year chart, correct? It's completely wrong. Look at the Wii U's weekly sales on the September 2013 charts. It only sold around 117k that month, but for some reason, the YoY chart adds the first week of October to September 2013's numbers. Seriously, go look at it. It's very strange.
But anyways, the Wii U is up by a very healthy amount this year, and I can't imagine it selling any less than last year for this holiday season. I might post some predictions later.
