Well, I did a look at One Piece Pirate Musou last gen on PS3 for comparison:

Pirate Musou did nearly all of it's sales in Japan. It did 664K first week and ended at 858K (talk about frontloaded). So it did about 130% of first week in Japan. Hyrule Warriors only made 72K first week in Japan. If we apply 130% it would mean the game will do about 94K lifetime in Japan. But it already is at 109K. Hyrule Warriors has much better Japan-legs than Pirate Musou had. You can see that also in the weekly percental dropoffs, they way lower than for Pirate Musou. I would at this moment say it will reach at least 130K in Japan.

Pirate Musou did about 37K first week in europe. It ended at 208K lifetime sales. That are more than 550% of lifetime sales. Hyrule Warriors did 73K first week in europe. 550% of this woudl suggest hyrule Warriors does over 400K lifetime in europe. But the weekly dropoffs are worse than for Pirate Musou, so I assume Hyrule Warriors has more frontloaded sales. So I play it more safe and say 300K lifetime are realistic.

Pirate Musou has no complete data for the US. If we apply the european pattern, that means 550% of first week sales (99K) are nearly 550K, but adjjusting for more frontloaded sales I say 400K.

As Hyrule Warriors already has 20K sales in the rest of the worls, this adds up to an expectation of 850K lifetime sales. As these calculations a bit on the conservative side, it may be more. I say it will end a bit short of the million, but it isn't that far away. As things go, this is all some speculation, we should get a better picture after the holiday sales. I expect HW to reach 500K over the holidays.


oh good for you!the same will happen inversely!in hyrule warriors case the big sales will be in USA and not in japan like one piece,also i m seeing tha hw did much better in Europe regarding one piece,intersting:P we were right,those who said that will do way better in the west,come on zelda's brand power in the west and mainly in NA ;)
