I'd recommend breaking this down by quarter. Q1 2013 would happen to be really healthy for Wii U in Japan following on launch momentum and release of Dragon Quest X and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Thereafter, practically nothing. Not much to interest the Japanese (or anyone else) Do a comparison of Q2 Q3 2013 with that of Q2 Q3 2014 and it may show a very different narrative than the one Seece likes to push. |
Well, unfortunately for you not the case.
Down yoy end of March, down yoy end of June.
What now?

Got your quarters mixed up. That's Q1 and Q2.
If you read my comments carefully, I provided a valid reason why Q1 2013 (through march) why is stronger than Q1 2014: Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest.
From there it's a matter of determining when and where Wii U sales collapsed. I'm pretty sure that in the West it was beginning to happen by end of Q1 -- but evidently it must have taken just a little longer in Japan.
What about Q3?
