But then it's also the only new release exclusive, aside from that 3DS final fantasy oddity. 72% of PS4 purchases being Destiny bundle doesn't necessarily mean huge console sales. But I assume GFK keeps track of hardware without actually publishing numbers weekly, so if they specifically note that Destiny bundle is keeping PS4 sales up then I guess it's significantly higher than baseline. I'm guessing between 15 and 20K for PS4 for the week? Gotta give props to TLOUR for sticking it out in the top 10. Now is a 78% drop for a game that launched as big as Destiny an expected drop? I thought most people figured a less than 80% drop is OK, and a less than 60% is very good. Being in the high 70's suggests it's not a great 2nd week, but also not bad. So the Meta score and some of the complaining about the flaws of the game perhaps haven't hurt sales too much. If 78% is the global drop, and Destiny launched to 7 million across all platforms then week 2 should be around 1.5 million. If it comes in at less than 1 million for the second week then that's a pretty poor showing. |
FW should be closer to 5m globally though ($325m revenue) which should still give it a second week of around 1m or more.
