Microsoft has done one thing that many will hesitate to do. "They listened to consumer's wallets". It takes a lot of courage to admit your actions and roll back.

Fixed.

Had they changed before preorder, you know listened to consumers before wallets got involved, flipped switches and what not, they probably wouldn't be getting outsold 2:1, and 3:1 YTD. They probally through any chance of 1st this gen away. In this industry fixing your mistakes isn't admirable, because everyone makes em and everyone pays the price for them. What requires true skill is not making mistakes and not fucking up, it takes skill to read the market and courage to trust them. MS did neither of those things. So yeah, owning up to their mistakes, we can give em a pat on the back, they don't get a medal or even a congratulations.

You don't give a medal to a competent company for doing what its supposed to do. Especially, when its not like they had a real choice otherwise.

They are for business just like everyone else. So whats wrong in it? I am a playstation guy and I am defending MS. Why? Because these are facts.

DIT: If anything, in their futile climb for first, they are pulling down everything they can. Sure many can defend it with MS is doing what they have to do, but it doesn't mean its good for gamers and they wouldn't be in this situation if they didn't purposelly ignore consumers until sales started to drop.

This is a problem that Microsoft created themselves, with negative effects on gamers. So I'm not defending MS or Sony, I'm defending gamers, and fact is when gamers said no, and Microsoft said "we'll think about it" then waited till preorders to do anything. Gloated about their million sales, then when 2015 started they realized that Gamers were serious.

Just because its a buisness doesn't mean its defensible, because Buisness is buisness. When you fuck with your consumers. you don't get a medal for apologizing, you should be grateful they even consider you and your product. As you said, its a buisness like everyone else. and Buisness serve consumers not the other way around. When Gamers said, we don't want Kinect, MS should have been like, "Yessir, anything else we can do for you". The fact that XB1 released in the state it did was an egregious insult to consumers, then when they perpetuated the problems because they didn't beleive consumers would actually do anything, they destroyed much of the good will they had with the 360.

A crappy buisness decision, changing things might cost money, but losing customers cost them the entire generation.
