GTA, CoD (Ghosts aside), and BF, haven't exactly been lambasted and critically whipped by the general gamer press either. In fact, those three have in general been critically praised with Battlefield being the usual low-end.

They're also established IPs. At this point, we don't even know how far Destiny will go if it keeps up its bad returns for Activision and their stock expectations, and if people even bother to support the paid DLC. They had a lot hanging on this game and the news on the returns isn't exactly... good. The poor reception could stint the DLC profit expectations and we get a whole house of cards scenario for this 500$ million project. Activision will survive, thanks to WoDWoW, but Bungie will get hit hard and Destiny may just turn into another blip on the historical radar.

COD has been the whipping child since Modern Warfare 3. GTA and BF are generally well liked though.

I don't think there's a huge percieved gap between Destiny and the others though.
