God Of War is simplistic at Easy and Normal difficulties, I agree, but on Hard and Very Hard modes you really need to get a heck of the combat and the various combos you can pull off. Not to mention that Bayonetta doesn't even come close in terms of scale, boss fights, epicness, narrative or polish really. |
I'd contend that slower is indeed worse when it comes to hack 'n' slash; dancing through the battlefield in a fluid, unbroken dance of death is much more empowering than slogging through foes. Plus Bayonetta's combat offers a lot more depth and variety.
