Seeing as the Wii is already "winning" in japan by a very large margin i dont think the game will give it that much of an edge over what it already has, if it was on ps3 or xbox 360 and turned out to be a success then thats a different story.

Yes, the PS3 needs it more, no doubt. I can't control who gets exclusives, however, nor do I have a "wish" as to whom eneded up with the game in their library. I'm not buying it either way.
I simply find it ironic that the same people who would tout the game if it were on the PS3 as the "Savior of the PS3 in the japanese market" are now looking for excuses as to why they believe it isn't a great game for the Wii's image to the average Japanese consumer, and a possible hardware pusher in Japan.
It's absolutely rediculious to point to sales of a game on the PS2 that had virtually no underground or cult status at the time and say, "Look how it sells on the consoles" when the PSP is the console that has launched the series into popularity. It's a progressive game, you can't downgrade and go back and play the PS2 version. To think that if Monster Hunter 3 launched on the PS2 in Japan now, it would do just as poorly as it did when nobody knew what the hell Monster Hunter was in Japan, it rediculious.
It's a game with a cult underground following, and it has grown by leaps and bounds since it was introduced to the handheld market. It's highly likely some of those PSP owners might wanna give MH3 a shot.
Just FYI, I'm betting it will have a PSP type online mode, and furthermore, I'd bet that the Wii online support works much better in Japan that it does in the US. The game is important. We wouldn't discuss it if it wasn't. Now, we just need to figure out how important it's gonna be.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
