Whether it is VGC's margin of error or not, it still has to sell 1.8 million units just to pass Nintendo for second place. Or is the 1.8 million also in VGC's margin of error and we can totally neglect that as well? To call people brain dead for choosing the current console that is succeeding as a second place finisher is childish. |
I believe you called me braindead first but whatever.
Wii U has the lead from having a 1 year earlier release, but I'm not going to just look at where we are now and predict that is where we will finish.
Wii U had a 4 million lead before XB1 launched, now it's 1.8 million. XB1 advanced with Titanfall, Wii U advanced more with MK8. Both have highs & lows this year, and the net result is still that XB1 caught up 0.5M year-to-date.
Looking forward, I'll be looking at what titles the two systems have for further boosts. I don't believe in endless momentum, I think future games will determine the trajectory. I don't "want" XB1 to beat Wii U, I just think that it will.

The margin is small, and XB1 is going to launch in more countries soon.
Also VGC has Wii U selling a lot more than XB1 in Europe, but what do you make of these current Amazon UK ranks?
#76 XB1 + Titanfall
#89 XB1 + Kinect
#117 XB1 + FIFA15
#119 XB1 + Sunset Overdrive
#159 WiiU + MK8
#195 XB1 Standard
... next Wii U & XB1 SKUs are ranked > #1000 which means tiny sales.
XB1 has 4 SKUs above Wii U, so I think XB1 is selling & pre-selling over 4 times what Wii U is on Amazon UK, and UK is the biggest market in Europe.
Other countries like France & Germany have Wii U & XB1 much closer ranked. Spain has both selling crap, it's Sony land.
