The same logic applied when XB beat Gamecube. Anything can happen.
Personally I hope Nintendo wins, and I think they can if they make smart bundles and get ahead early. I don't think WiiU will have as long of a lifetime as XB1/PS4 (like how Wii died early), so it needs to build up a lead. Mario Kart 8 will help, but Nintendo needs to make a more desireable bundle then New Super Mario Bros.
Nintendo has the tools to get 2nd.
