A miracle cause the PS3 had to turn so much around. Microsoft changed most of the policies in half a year. I'm pretty sure Nintendo can do the same although their problem is a bit more difficult.
The thing is droughts aren't new, and obviously to call the sales we have now high is an overexaggeration. These are high sales for a drought, pitiful sales if compared to the holidays. If anything, it supports the idea that more games = more sales.
