Nope. Seems like they've double down on the game pad for the next year.

Wii U is going to be the lowest selling Nintendo console ever, that's pretty much all there is to it.

I think they can't drop the GamePad either because they have a lot of them manufactured and don't want to eat a loss on those unsold controllers if they switched to a tablet-less SKU.

Agreed with above though Miyamoto's "tablet demos" were a depressing display of a company desperate to try and shoe-horn ideas into a controller that simply doesn't have many uses for console gaming. 

Wii U gamepad is pretty much the definition of an answer looking for a problem. Nintendo bought into the hype that you can sell hardware based on controller gimmicks and their luck ran out.
