GTA4 DLC timed exclusive... $50M. Right off the top of my head.

And while we may not know the details, Titanfall must have cost MS something, and so must TR especially considering that it would sell more on a playstation platform. And Crytek just annouced that if they made a sequel to Ryse it could be on any platform.

Point I am making is, wouldn't all that money have been better spent if they used to to fund IPs that they would at least own or something.

Problem is you said "pretty much just as much as" which implied you know

a) what MS spent on all the deals

b) the costs for a brand new ip.

You don't know any of both, it seems.
